    iSad

Like most of the world, I am mourning Steve Jobs today. In reading about his death (initially in a text on my iphone, and then on Twitter via my mac computer), I came to realize what a massive impact he has had on my life. Not just the world as a whole, but to me. Personally.

The very first computer I ever used was a Macintosh. I was in kindergarten, and my private school stocked our computer lab with a collection of what must have been the first model, or very close to it (I was 5 in 1985).

My father was a journalism teacher and he bought nothing but Macintoshs from that point on, both for his classroom and our home.

I remember my grandmother, in her 80s, owning one of the blue and white iMacs...and my very first computer - the one I took to college with me - was a Mac. I grew up with Macintosh...that instantly recognizable Apple icon says FAMILY to me, as weird as that might sound.

Maybe it's a little crazy how large a role technology plays in my life, but I really don't know what the world would look life for me, without Macintosh.

    Without Steve Jobs.

Thank you, Mr. Jobs. You will be greatly missed. :-(
